This course offers live interaction with a powered antenna to provide hands-on experience in real-life PIM (Passive Intermodulation) and Sweep understanding, testing, and troubleshooting.

 

PIM is a set of unwanted signals created by the mixing of two or more strong Radio Frequency (RF) signals in a non-linear device, such as a loose or corroded connector, or nearby rust.

Other names for PIM: The diode effect, the rusty bolt effect

Signs of PIM problems include:

  • Receive-noise-floor-diversity-imbalance
  • High noise floors
  • Shorter than average call duration
  • Higher dropped call rates
  • Lower data rates
  • Lower call volume
